Sound the Trumpet Saturday, December 16, 2006, 7:30 p.m. Mason United Methodist Church Northwest Repertory Singers welcomes the Evergreen Brass as their guest artists for an exciting evening of songs of the season. NWRS will begin the concert with a processional by Henry Purcell that captures the title of the evening. This will be followed by a variety of glorious a cappella and accompanied works including new arrangements of favorite melodies. The Evergreen Brass will also perform a set of traditional carols and songs that will delight the listeners. The first half will conclude with a traditional carol for choir, brass and audience. The second half of the program will combine choir, narrator, brass, timpani and organ in a cantata titled Christmas Story by American composer Ron Nelson. This marvelous setting is loaded with word painting and glorious harmonies, which eloquently enhance the drama of the story. Our guest narrator is Rev. Eugene Kester.
